Gina Fortino Dickson grew up in Lake County, CA. She attended Lower Lake High School where her interest in the law and justice, began in student government. This sparked her passion for the law! And led her to San Diego City College to pursue a Paralegal Certificate. She has always prided herself on her excellent academics and she is graduating Cum Laude from Empire School of Law. Her hard work has also earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Sonoma State University and an A.A. in Business Management from Santa Rosa Junior College. She earned her Juris Doctor one year early, on an accelerated program, from Empire College after having received her Master of Legal Studies in December.
Gina has worn many hats on her journey, including serving as Vice Mayor and Council Member of the City of Clearlake from 2012-2016, after serving two terms as Planning Commissioner. She now resides in and serves the Town of Windsor. Formerly, as Park and Recreations Commissioner, and currently as a Planning Commissioner and as a member of the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women.
While attending law school and working full time for the Department of Emergency Management of Sonoma County Gina was an integral part of responding to the many disasters, which have affected us over the past three years. This included working in the Emergency Operations Center to assist in response efforts.
During law school, she joined the Sonoma County Bar Association, serves on the Events Committee and is a member of the Barrister’s Club. She is the 2020 Sonoma County Women in Law Scholarship recipient and the 2019 Olga Gracey scholarship recipient. She graduated Cum Laude and was selected as the Labe Leibowitz award winner by her peers. She volunteered in the Elder Law Clinic, Legal Aid and the Small Claims Clinic. Gina is now a member of the Lake and Sonoma Bar Associations, as well as the California Lawyers Association and California Women Lawyers Association.
She looks forward to continuing to serve the community by striving for justice and equity through the practice of law. When Gina is not serving the community, she loves spending time with her family, including her parents and five siblings, her husband and two children. She is a natural motivator and finds joy in encouraging others to achieve their goals as well.
